“Beauty” and “Authority” by the approach of appropriating and defacing popular commercial or political images in order to create another pretty but grotesque paradise.

Through the action, she not only proclaims a regained control toward the images but also creates a monster-like image to speak for her contradicted identity in the society.

Yi-Hsin was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design with an Artistic Honors Full Tuition Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including Taiwan, USA, France, Colombia, Australia, and New Zealand. Her works were also featured in New York Times, New American Paintings magazine (USA), The Outlook Magazine (China), AUREUS Contemporary Gallery, and Pierogi gallery (NYC).
